We are delighted to announce that our team has grown!

Please meet our Director of Finance, Tsolmon (TJ) Jargalsaikhan. He has over 10 years of experience working in venture capital, private equity and private credit funds. At Kindred, TJ focuses on finance, investment operations, compliance and digital asset management. Prior to Kindred, he worked at DFJ Growth and Threshold Ventures and started his career as an investment analyst at a boutique credit fund in San Francisco.

Our Operations Manager, Frances Choi, arrived at Kindred by way of OpenAI and Twitch, and brings operational excellence to our day-to-day. She has worked with the most novel and fast-moving teams in video, gaming, and AI, and uses that knowledge to develop scalable and engageable programs. Her passion to bring people together means she throws some amazing events!

And finally, we are pleased to have hired our inaugural Research Associates: Holyn Kanake and Evan Chen! They bring experience from startups, DAOs, big tech, and big finance. They will be leading research across theme areas including crypto/web3, AI, fintech, digital health, climate, and more.

Holyn previously worked at @Twitter and helped scale global content partnerships across revenue, product, health & safety, and more. While there, she launched a social token $HOLLA — naturally, she left to join @FWB’s treasury team and advise web3/consumer startups. Holyn is a prolific writer. Ask her about AI, creators, commerce, crypto, or any other trending topic; she’s likely published an essay on it and believes the technology matters even if it makes a 3% difference.

Evan is an engineer and finance nerd, and has worked across functions at Microsoft on Xbox, Azure, Power Platform business applications, and Treasury teams. After Microsoft, he worked as a Data Engineer at a Series B fintech startup while beginning his crypto journey. He’s since written tokenomics whitepapers for several crypto projects, co-founded a DeFi protocol, started an investment DAO himself, and actively trades tokens and NFTs. He is also a mentor for the Techstars Anywhere, Launchpool Web3 Techstars, and Techstars SportsTech Melbourne cohorts. Evan enjoys writing threads on Twitter and occasionally posts on Substack, hoping to educate more people about technology and web3.

It’s been part of our mission at Kindred to stay small in team size and tightly knit to focus our energy on our incredible founders. But the time is right to grow for our next phase. If you have experience in VC in legal, finance, or ops, we would love to hear from you.
